Shamshad Akhtar has served as the finance minister of Pakistan, governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, under-secretary general of the UN, and executive secretary of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. She is a co-chair of the Debt Relief for a Green and Inclusive Recovery Project.
