The financial climate alliance has unveiled new guidance to help banks and investors support the net-zero transition, although its membership criteria has been criticised for being too lax.
Campaigners have warned that banks’ net-zero commitments are undermined by a failure to incorporate their facilitation of fossil fuel financing via capital markets.
